BIOGRAPHY

Adam and Coralie Usmani have been playing music together ever since they first met in an Auckland folk club in 2002. After watching Coralie perform some hot country fiddle, Adam got the ball rolling by inviting her around for a few jam sessions. These few jam sessions resulted in a few more, a couple of recordings and…. getting married!

Adam is primarily a singer/songwriter, but also a guitarist and formidable pianist. He grew up performing from a very young age with his parents childrens entertainment group “The Aunties”. As he was older, he kept his musical dream alive travelling to South Africa to explore new musical horizons and share his music in another part of the world. His music has received airplay on Channel Z and 95bfm. Since he admires and is influenced by a wide range of music, Adams songs reflect many muical styles.

Coralie grew up in both Singapore (her mothers country) and New Zealand (her fathers) and has also been performing from a young age. She began learning the violin at age 11 and hasn’t gone back since. She has graduated from Auckland University with a Bachelor of Music degree in performance violin. She performs a wide range of music from classical to irish, teaches violin and conducts the Titirangi Rudolf Steiner School Orchestra.

As a couple, Adam and Coralie have continued forging their musical careers together. In 2006, they co-hosted a TV programme/band competition called “Top of the Rocks” on Auckland Music Channel ALT TV . They have pursued recording with bands Vendetta (2004) and Usmani (2005). They play regularly both as a couple and with various bands in Auckland. Their musical style is a melting pot of rock, folk and pop with a little classical, jewish, country and irish thrown in to spice it up a little!

Adam and Coralie love jamming together and with friends, recently they have embarked on a performance project in which guests are invited to come and perform as part of their set which is lots of fun on stage and great for the audience too! They are currently looking for gigs at suitable public venues (cafe's bars etc) so if you're interested contact details are on the contacts page.
